Easily Bungled Life & Death Problems

Problem Composer: Hidaka Toshiyuki 8 dan

I believe that all of the readers have mastered the knowledge concerning the basic tenets of life and death. However, when conditions are altered slightly as in the midst of real game play, what would happen in that case? That may be wondered. In particular, attention is essential in shapes faced with a shortage of liberties. Stones which in the opening may be expected to be alive, when the middlegame phase is passed and everything boiled down, often are embroiled in situations where effective moves appear.

This time easily bungled life and death positions, mainly involving a shortage of liberties, are the focus. To begin with, basic models of corner shapes will introduce the theme.
